Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also known as a counterbalance, lifts loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being large and sturdy, these industrial machines still carry the potential risk of accident or crash. To be able to be safe, be sure to have operators put on the correct seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. People know that in the event of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The types of seat belts which can extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These belts offer an extra degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bench-seat and buckle-seat types. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either non-retractable or retractable styles.
Retractable seat belts are commonly utilized in most modern motor vehicles on the market. While non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable kinds provide more comfort. It is truly not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are those which extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type that force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band types.
