Different Classes of Aerial Lift
A particular kind of heavy machinery that allows a person to be raised into the air is aerial lifts. These machinery are usually utilized to perform repairs on areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near power lines and street-light fixtures. Similar to the majority of tools, there are various kinds of aerial lifts that can be used to perform a variety of tasks. For the utmost safety, every kind of different type of machinery requires right training and specific certification prior to operation.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are normally known as Genie lifts. They are considered the most basic kind of aerial lift. These lifts are made of a platform that is lifted up by means of pneumatic power and are mostly utilized for indoor applications. Typically, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts could be driven similar to large carts. Normally, when the platform is extended, they are not able to be driven for safety reasons. Before anybody could use these devices, employees should be certified as operators.

Boom Lifts
Compared to a scissor lift, boom lifts are much more complex kind of aerial lift equipment. A boom lift has a wide base to be able to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box located in the bucket that allows the operator to lower and raise the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it can move from side to side as well. The boom lift resembles a tail of a metal scorpion. Usually, it is used in outdoor construction applications. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, hence, operators should be certified separately for these types of lifts.
