Combilift is a business which was originally started by engineers Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett. They had more than 40 years of engineering experience between them when they first founded the company in the year 1998 in Monaghan, Ireland. In just more than 10 years, Combilift became a leader in the long handling market all over the world, delivering equipment to more than 50 markets worldwide. Supported by a trusted international network of distributors that have helped expand distribution into many markets around the world and using their extensive experience and knowledge, McVicar and Moffett have made products which are in high demand and had sold 10,000 units by mid 2009.
Below is a summary of some of the Combilift units.
C-Series Combilifts come in an array of mast options. Lift heights up to nine meters and lift capacities up to 25,000 kilograms are available. Engines are available in diesel, electric or battery and LPG or gas and the C-Series Combilifts can operate in guided aisles as narrow as 210 centimetres wide.
Combilift Straddle Carriers provide the ability to transport heavy, oversized cargo such as fully loaded containers which weigh up to 35 tons. These loads could be transported all over a work site or facility and the Combilift Straddle Carrier can lift fully loaded containers where required, whether it be from the ground to the trailer, from trailer to trailer or from the trailer to the ground. These kinds of machines are a cost-effective, efficient solution for many haulage, shipping, and distribution businesses, even those types with low throughput levels.
The SL-Series is much different compared to other side-loaders due to its ability to drive in four directions. This multi-directional steering is available with the cab on the left or on the right. This all-wheel drive, hydrostatic lift truck could help businesses in numerous ways, one of which is to allow facilities to have aisles which are narrower. It also allows the capability to bulk or block stack by driving forward. This extremely manoeuvrable truck is often found to be a better choice compared to a lot of conventional sit-down sideloaders due to the various extra capabilities and features.
