Forklift trucks are essential pieces of equipment used commonly in business, particularly within warehouses, distribution centers, industrial and storage handling plants. A lift truck is made of hundreds of parts, like the carriage, the cab, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks generally have a range of attachments too. The following are some of the most important parts of a lift truck.
Engine of the Forklift - the lift truck is made with a power source at the rear of the machinery. Various kinds of forklift truck have various kinds of engine that need varying power sources. Like for instance, a forklift with an IC engine can have as its power source any of the following: CNG gas, LP gas, diesel or gasoline. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.
Frame of The Truck - The frame of the truck is the base of the lift truck and the most vital of all the forklift components. This forms the equipment's core. All other components of a forklift are attached to the base, like for instance the axles, mast, wheels counterweight and overhead guard. Hydraulic fluid and fuel tanks may also be part of the frame assembly.
Counterweight Lift Truck Components - While lifting heavy loads, the counterweight enables the machinery to be balanced. This particular component is cast iron and comes connected to the back of the lift truck. The counterbalance balances the frame of the truck to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being lifted or carried on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric lift truck provides balance and could work as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - this area is where the operator sits and drives the machinery. Several lift trucks have a cab area which is open to the air and some have closed cabs. There are really lots of parts situated in the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such important parts like for instance the seats, pedals, switches, levers, operator controls and steering wheel. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
