Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. For example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
