A forklift to be a successful unit must be built strong to last the working conditions for numerous hours of use. It should be able to transport loads quickly and efficiently too. The machine must be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to always offer great durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and robust gears. The drive, steer axle, transmission and engine are all isolated so as to reduce noise and vibration inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These kinds of machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimal adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that minimize wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to enhanced torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is offered by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all machines. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough environment. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching which automatically adjusts in order to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission uses computer-controlled power reversal to eliminate shock loading, increase durability and extend the life of the tires. As well, the auto deceleration feature reduces both break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for added durability, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are entirely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which could add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. As well, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included many ergonomic features and safety features. These kinds of machinery will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
