Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are used to transport things and materials around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by one person.
To prevent loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To be able to lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be at the center to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet ahead of you since the thrust can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop abruptly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
