A kind of equipment in the material handling industry that can be used to raise and move loads from one place to another is known as a forklift. Every component of a forklift has a particular function. Various parts can be utilized to move the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The parts utilized to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are different types of masts used for raising loads to various heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: electric, gas, diesel and propane. The battery is situated within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is located on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is located in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated inside the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the largest forklift parts is the truck frame. This consists of the counterweights located at the back that prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
