The telescopic lift truck would usually have a lengthened lift which uses a crane or arm to come over top of a truck. This particular type of forklift will allow you to lift loads higher and with greater control. This extra control is due to the fact that you are moving the load on the end of a crane, which is referred to as a telescopic boom.
The load could also move both away from and towards the forklift cab too and this unique feature is something which regular lift trucks are unable to do. The telescopic forklifts can offer both versatility and height. The telescopic lift truck is really common in the agricultural and construction industries. In addition, they are an excellent choice in situations where you must work with something which requires more control that a standard lift truck.
Frame Tilt
A unique feature common to telehandlers is the frame tilt. Operators can activate the lateral controls to move the angle of the frame from side to side. This frame could be moved 10 to 15 degrees in either direction from horizontal. There is a liquid filled tube that is curved and mounted in the cab. This is the frame tilt indicator or level indicator and works like a carpenter's level. It has a bubble indicator which indicates the frame's lateral angle relative to the ground. This is a very handy device which is utilized to ensure the frame is level prior to raising the boom in rough setting.
Steering
There are several models of telehandlers that offer rear wheel steering, similar to a vertical mast type model. Most models offer 3 steering options that the operator can choose; circle, front and crab steering. Like for example, if the operator selects the "front" steering option, just the machine's front wheels will react to the movement of the steering wheel.
